this is “Brigid” the ancient Celtic goddess of things of the “higher dimensions” which included craftsmanship, poetry, agriculture and warfare. She was incorporated into the Catholic church as “St. Brigid” sometime before the tenth century as one of the patron saints of Ireland. Nuns in her convent tended to an “eternal” flame that is said to be a pagan ritual kept from when she was considered a goddess of the hearth and home. She had two holidays, Imbolc and Oestara, the Pagan celebration later replaced with Christian Easter. Scholars believe her mythology may be linked to those of ancient Greece’s Hestia and Athena.
